Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has congratulated the new Chairman and Commissioners of the Federal Character Commission on their recent appointment and swearing in by President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement made available to Igbere TV by Dr. Iboko Imo Iboko, Special Adviser to the Governor on Strategy and Planning, he urged the Commission to pursue the fulfilment of her mandates with devotion and commitment.
Igbere TV recalls that Dr. Muheeba Farida Dankaka was recently appointed and sworn in as Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, in Abuja.
Governor Ikpeazu said if the Commission’s principles were adhered to in all recruitments by Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government and in the siting of infrastructural facilities and socio-economic amenities in Nigeria, there would be absolute satisfaction in the country and “nobody would care about where the Chief Executive comes from, as long as everything was done equitably.”
He said that equitable distribution of amenities has always been the guiding principles of his administration in Abia State and pledged that the State would continue to cooperate with the Federal Character Commission to ensure that it fulfils her mandate creditably.
He, therefore, charged the new Commissioner representing Abia State in the Commission, Hon. Henry Ogbulogo, to endeavour to protect the interests of Abia State in the Commission at all times.
