The Commissioner for Works and Housing in Kogi State, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has felicitated with Nigerian Muslims as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
He urged the Islamic faithful to uphold their obedience to Allah in all circumstances and repose their trust in Him in all challenges.
The commissioner, in his Sallah message obtained by IGBERE TV also urged the Muslims to expand and maximize the spiritual benefits of this virtuous Eid Festival by ensuring and promoting peaceful co-existence with each other as well as people of other faiths, shun violence and religious conflicts in whatever form.
As the Commissioner re-iterated: “What we are celebrating today is neither the blood nor the ram meat but a holy ritual to commemorate the essence of total submission and obedience to the Commandment and Will of Almighty Allah as exemplified by our Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) and his son, Ismail (A.S.).”
Ohere further admonished Kogites to sustain their prayers and good wishes for the Administration of His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello in his bid to deliver good governance and infrastructural development in the state.
He enjoined Muslims to pray and conduct themselves peacefully and in a manner ordained by Almighty Allah during and after the Sallah celebration. As he exhorted: “Be obedient, tolerant, prayerful and observe patience at all times as Allah has promised to reward those who possess such noble attributes. “Inna llaha ma’ saabireen – Allah is indeed with the patient” (Q2:153).
The Commissioner wished the Muslims a memorable Eid Celebration: “Let me congratulate all Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir Festival. I wish all of us many more of this season ahead.”
