FG Has Not Dissolved Interim Management Committee Of NDDC – Presidency

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina has denied issuing a statement saying the Federal Government has dissolved the interim management committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Mr Adesina disowned the statement in a release made available to IGBERE TV on Friday.

“A statement purportedly signed by me has been making the rounds that the Federal Government has dissolved the Interim Management Committee of the NDDC. Merchants of fake news in action. The communication did not emanate from the media office of the President. Please ignore,” he said.

The Senate had on Thursday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei-led IMC for alleged financial recklessness.

It also recommended that the NDDC should be returned to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) for proper supervision.

The agency which was formerly supervised by the SGF is now being supervised by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs under Senator Godswill Akpabio, following recent directives by the presidency.
