NDDC Probe: Akpabio Accuses Reps Of 'Bullying' During Hearing

Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godswill Akpabio has accused the House of Representatives Committee investigating financial mismanagement in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) of bullying him, Igbere TV reports.

On resumption of hearing on Monday, Akpabio was asked if the three major projects he had endorsed had the approval of the Federal Executive Council.

But the minister was interrupted while answering the question.

He then said, “Mr chairman, the condition where we are in now does not require bullying, with due respect.”

The lawmakers assured that they were not bullying him but that he needed to answer the questions directly.

Hearing had been suspended for about an hour after the Acting Managing Director of NDDC Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei collapsed while being grilled by the lawmakers.
