The Abia State Government has demanded the arrest of a police officer for allegedly killing two of its citizens in Aba, Igbere TV reports.
This is coming four days after, Sergent Chinatu Onyema killed two people in the commercial city of Aba.
According to a statement by Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, the government condemned the killings and urged the State Police Command to fish out the suspect and bring him to justice.
State Commissioner of Police, Janet Agbede, who regretted the incident, said the police is currently making efforts to arrest the suspect who is currently at large and charge him to court.
Agbede, while warning officers and men to always obey the rules of engagement, assured that her Command will soon commence re-training of personnel in order to reduce the rate of extra-judicial killings in the State.
Recall that on Wednesday, Sergent Onyema allegedly killed two people in Aba. One of the deceased, identified as Ifeanyi Kalu, was said to be a member of the Abia State Board of Internal Revenue Task Force operating in the area.
