Police in Anambra have arrested two people identified as 23-year-old man Emmanuel Nwafor and 21-year-old man Chukwuebuka Obi over the murder of a 45-year-old man identified as Mr Enoch Nwosu whose corpse was abandoned in a forest in Amichi, Anambra State.
The two suspects linked to the murder of the middle-aged man which occurred on Sunday July 5 were also accused of stealing his Lexus SUV.
Reacting on the sad incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Haruna Mohammed confirmed the arrest.
The PPRO also revealed that investigation had commenced.
The statement read; “On the 9/7/2020 following actionable intelligence, police operatives attached to Ichi Division arrested one Emmanuel Nwafor ‘m’ aged 23 years and Chukwuebuka Obi ‘m’ aged 21years all of Amichi town in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State.
“Suspects had on the 5/7/2020 allegedly robbed and killed one Enoch Nwosu ‘m’ aged about 45 years of Enugwu-Aja village Ichi who left his house since Saturday 4/7/2020 with his Lexus 330 Jeep with Reg No.ZBL 38RL.
“However, police detectives visited the scene of crime and the body of the deceased was recovered at Amichi forest and deposited at the mortuary after it was certified dead by a medical doctor.
“The police detectives also retrieved the Lexus Jeep and other stolen valuables from the suspects in Asaba and they were registered as exhibits.
“Case under investigation after which the Suspects and their fleeing accomplices would be brought to book.”
