Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has prayed for the state commissioner for health, Prof Akin Abayomi, on his birthday.
Tweeting on Sunday, Mr Sanwo-Olu thanked Abayomi for bringing his expertise into tackling the novel coronavirus which has infected thousands in Lagos.
The governor prayed that God would ‘show up’ for the commissioner the same way he came through for the state in dealing with COVID-19.
“To a distinguished gentleman, an astute professional, and an indefatigable team player. A very Happy Birthday to our Commissioner for Health, @ProfAkinAbayomi,” he wrote.
“You rose up to the occasion during an unprecedented emergency. You brought your wealth of experience to the table and helped us make decisions for the overall good of Lagosians.
“My prayer for you today is that God will continue to show up for you and bless you.”
The commissioner has been receiving tons of messages on social media from Lagos State officials, friends and well-wishers.
