Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, will serve as deputy chairman while Abbas Braimoh has been appointed secretary of the 49-member council.

This followed the approval for the constitution of a national campaign council for the September 19 governorship election by the national chairman of the APC caretaker/extra-ordinary national convention planning committee, Mai Mala Buni.

Members of the council include Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; former APC national chairmen, John Odigie-Oyegun and Adams Oshiomhole; and former Imo State governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha.

Also named as members are former Abia State governor, Orji Kalu; Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva; former Sokoto State governor, Aliyu Wamako, among others.

According to the statement, the campaign council will be inaugurated on July 6 at the party’s national secretariat.
