Actress Stella Damasus' Daughter Graduates As Valedictorian, Gets Scholarship

Angelica Aboderin, daughter of Nollywood actress, Stella Aboderin, who gained a full scholarship to Columbia University, has graduated from high school in the United States of America.

Stella, 42, shared several pictures and videos of Angelica Aboderin, who was also voted valedictorian of her class, in her graduation gown and mortarboard on Instagram on Thursday.

“My beautiful daughter @angelicatooni graduated high school today. I am such a proud mum right now. She didn’t only get scholarship to @columbia she is also #valedictorian of the class of 2020…,” she captioned one of them.

Angelica’s sister, Isobel, also congratulated her on the same day and on the same platform.

She wrote, “My sis @angelicatooni is officially a high school graduate today!!!! So proud of you sis!”

Angelica shared some pictures of herself from the ceremony and made it clear that she is ready to take on the next phase of her life.

“It’s official!! I’m a high school graduate. I’m so proud to be graduating with the #classof2020 as the Valedictorian. It’s been a hell of a journey and I can’t wait to start the next chapter of my life,” she wrote.

Stella shared the news of Angelica’s scholarship to the Ivy league on Instagram on June 1.

“Words cannot express my gratitude to God right now. My second daughter @angelicatooni will be attending an ivy league college on full scholarship.

“She worked hard and deserves this. Prayer and fasting works and then when you put in the work it is guaranteed. I love you baby and I am so proud of you…,” she wrote.

Angelica and Isobel are Stella’s only children with her former husband, Jaiye Aboderin, who died on December 3, 2004 shortly after a basketball game.

He was the younger brother of singer, Wunmi Obe, and Angela Emuwa, chairperson of Punch Newspapers.

Stella is now married to Nollywood movie director, Daniel Ademinokun.
