Sen. Ndume Stands As Surety For Maina's Bail Application

Senator Ali Ndume has stood as surety for the former chairman of the defunct Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, in his application to the Federal High Court, Abuja, to further vary his bail conditions.

Maina’s counsel, Joe Gadzama, made this known on Tuesday while presenting another motion before Justice Okon Abang for further bail variation of the defendant.

Maina, who is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged fraud, has been in detention since November 2019.

The court had on January 28 reviewed conditions given for the defendant’s release on bail, one of which is to provide a senator as surety instead of two.
