Men of Kano State Police Command have apprehended a 20-year-old man on Saturday, June 20 after he was involved in a failed kidnap attempt of a two-year-old baby on Aba road, Sabon Gari.
The suspect was rescued by the police from the hands of an angry mob which wanted to lynch him.
According to sources, the suspect (name withheld) sneaked into a one-storey building and successfully kidnapped the child.
He met his waterloo after he was apprehended downstairs by neigbours who saw him attempting to escape with the child from the premises.
An alarm was raised immediately by people who caught him which made neigbors to gather at the scene and made several attempts to lynch the suspected kidnappers.
According to report, the suspected kidnapper was whisked away by security operatives to the Nomansland Police station for further interrogation.
However, several attempts to contact the Kano Police Command PPRO, DSP Abdullah Haruna Kiyawa for confirmation failed, as he did not pick his call.
