President Muhammadu Buhari has blasted the nation’s security chiefs over the rising insecurity across the country, especially in the northern region, Igbere TV reports.
National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd), revealed the president’s warning to State House correspondents at the end of a meeting which he (Buhari) had with the security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.
According to Monguno, Buhari said he would no longer take excuses.
Igbere TV reports that service chiefs have been in office since their appointments in 2015 despite calls for a change over persistent security challenges.
Protests have been holding in some parts of the north, including Buhari’s state, Katsina, over poor handling of banditry and insurgency.
