#JusticeForUwa: New Edo CP Condoles With Family, Vows To Arrest Culprits

The new Commissioner of Police in Edo, Johnson Kokumo, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Uwa Omozuwa.

Ms Omozuwa, 22, a student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), was raped and injured in a church where she went to study on May 27. She died from the injuries three days later in a hospital.

The incident has attracted calls for justice for rape victims nationwide.

Mr Kokumo, during his visit to the family on Thursday, vowed to apprehend the perpetrators.

The commissioner, in company of his top management and tactical teams of the police command in the state, assured the family that the culprits would be brought to book in no distant time.

The parents of the deceased, Johnson and Joy Omozuwa, expressed gratitude to the police for its efforts at ensuring that justice would be served.

On the entourage of the new CP were the leadership and representatives of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), as well as the Student Union Government (SUG) of UNIBEN.
