The Minister of Women’s affairs, Dame Pauline K. Tallen has reacted to the horrific act against women with the recent case being Uma and Tina, who both lost their lives.
Dame Pauline in a long statement via her social media went on to call for justice as she called on lawmakers to take emergency actions on the dastardly oppression that is suddenly on the increase.
She added that the Ministry of Women Affairs is aware of how vulnerable Nigerian women are, and record of cases being reported indeed stirs rage.
“We are working passionately to address these issues on violence and abuse against women in Nigeria, and doing this from all angles: Policies, Legislations and Regulations, to create a Nigerian society that is safe for every woman.
Our goal is to build systems that are efficient, effective and reliable.
All concerns at this point are valid, continue to speak up. I appreciate everyone holding this Ministry accountable, I assure you that we see and hear you.
Our efforts are not just to repair what is broken right now, but to establish a dependable security for the future. Accept my sincere assurances,” she said.
