The Federal Government, through the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and the Nigerian Mission in India, has alerted the country’s authorities over reports of a Nigerian beaten to a pulp in the country.
The NIDCOM shared a video on Thursday evening on Twitter, showing the unidentified Nigerian being dragged near Om Diary and Bakers in Delhi, India’s capital.
The commission called on Nigerians in India to remain calm pending investigation.
“Our attention has been drawn to above incident of a Nigerian brutally beaten up in Delhi, India.
“The Nigerian mission in India is aware and are currently investigating the circumstances.
“We call on Nigeria Community in India to be calm as the Mission is aware,” it wrote.

Chairman/CEO of NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in an update on the incident, said it occurred on Tuesday.
“The Nigerian mission in India has reported to the police and has demanded a full investigation on this incident which happened two days ago. We will keep on it and update. Sad!” she said on Twitter.
