A Nigerian has died of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Brazil; the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) announced this on Thursday.
NIDCOM chairman/chief executive, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, shared a condolence video on Twitter made by the deceased’s female cousins.
The victim’s cousins, who identified themselves as Taiwo and Kehinde, said the man’s name was Obafemi Adebayo.
The cousins, apparently twins, said they had lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for 15 years.
According to them, Mr Obafemi was placed on a ventilator for 12 days before his death.
He is survived by his wife and two children.
The ladies urged the public to obey health guidelines so as to keep safe from the ravaging disease.
