IgbereTV reports that Kano state government has announced the extension of the lockdown imposed by one week to help further fight the spread of the novel COVID-19 pandemic.
This announcement was made by Malam Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information, who said the decision was reached after due consultations with the federal government and key stakeholders in the health sector.
According to him, taking the decision was necessary help further reduce the indiscriminate person to person contacts
which is considered as one of the major ways the disease is being spread.
Though the decision may not be favourable to many, the statement called for patience and support from the public in the continued fight against COVID-19.
It also urged the people to continue to observe strict personal hygiene through regular hand washing, use of face masks and social distancing to curb the spread of COVID-19.
