Rep Benjamin Kalu in a statement released on Friday has felicitated with Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu following the nullification of his conviction by the Supreme Court, IgbereTV report.
Benjamin Kalu disclosed he has always maintained that the erroneous conviction of Senator Kalu at the Federal High Court by a Judge of the Court of Appeal was doomed to fail.
He added that “fair hearing could not be said to have been exercised in this matter until it was heard by the Supreme Court.”
The member of the Green Chamber stressed that he was glad that an unbiased court heard the appeal of Senator Kalu and the conviction has been set aside.
“This is a testament to the profoundness of the wise words of Desmond Tutu, when he said, “… _the chief lesson I have learned: the texture of our universe is one where there is no question at all but that good and laughter and justice will prevail,” Benjamin Kalu said.
The lawmaker finally congratulated and welcome the distinguished Senator back home as he stated that the people of Bendel Senatorial district looked forward to enjoying the quality representation which he started in the red chamber.
