Oyo Discharges Another Coronavirus Patient

Oyo State Government has discharged a coronavirus patient who was tested in Lagos but travelled to Ibadan while awaiting result.

Governor Seyi Makinde said in a Twitter thread on Thursday that the woman, although requested transfer to Lagos, has now been released after receiving treatment in Oyo.

“The Emergency Operations Centre was able to track a COVID-19 positive case, following an alert from Lagos State. The patient had a test in Lagos but came to Ibadan while waiting for the result,” he wrote.

“The result has been recorded as a Lagos State case but the patient, a woman, had been taken to the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo.

“The confirmed COVID-19 case who requested a transfer to Lagos on April 11, 2020 has now been discharged after testing negative twice.”

As of Friday, Oyo State has 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 10 active ones and two deaths.
