Lagos State Ministry of Health has announced the 19th death from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the state.
The ministry made the announcement on Saturday on Twitter after acknowledging 80 new infections announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday night.
“80 new cases of #COVID19 Infection confirmed. Total confirmed cases in Lagos now 670. 5 previously confirmed #COVID19 Lagos patients were however transferred to Ogun State. Total transferred now 13,” the ministry wrote.
“1 #COVID19 death was recorded, bringing the total number of #COVID19 related deaths in Lagos to 19.”
The ministry did not reveal further information on the latest victim.
There are 1,095 confirmed COVID-19 cases across the country.
