Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, says the state’s index coronavirus patient has recovered and has been discharged.
The governor said on Twitter on Monday that the patient tested negative for the second time and had been released to reunite with family.
“The index #COVID_19 case in #EdoState has tested negative for the 2nd time and has now been discharged to go home,” Mr Obaseki wrote.
“This brings to 7 the no. of patients successfully managed and discharged in Edo, with 50% recovery rate of 14 admitted cases. Please, stay safe.”
Edo has a total of 15 confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to data by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
