Kano State, on Wednesday, recorded its first Coronavirus death, four days after an index case was confirmed in the state.
The state ministry of health confirmed the ugly development in a tweet sighted by Igbere TV, late Wednesday.
“Wednesday, 15th April 2020. As at 11:55 pm, 1 death of #COVID19 has been recorded in Kano State,” the tweet read.
Number of cases of COVID-19 in Kano have been on the rise since the first confirmed case on Sunday.
From 4 cases on Sunday, the figures increased to 9 and then 21 both on Wednesday night.
Nigeria’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 rose to 407 on same Wednesday as 34 new cases were announced by the NCDC.
Lagos remains the epicentre for the outbreak in Nigeria, with total number of cases hitting 232 since the index case in the country.
