Former minister of finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, has lost her husband, Sa’ad Usman, the emir of Jere, Kaduna State.
Usman was finance minister during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.
Younger brother of the late emir, Aminu Jere, announced the passage of the monarch on Wednesday.
“I just lost a brother in person of HRH the Sarkin Jere, Dr. Sa’ad Usman, PhD. Janazah (funeral prayers) will take place at Jere town, by 2 pm Insha Allah,” he said.
The deceased was a former Secretary of the Kaduna State Government.
The late monarch had been hospitalised in London following injuries he got during a scuffle between him and locals over land dispute.
