Covid-19: Folorunso Alakija, Husband Donate N1bn To Nigeria's Fight

One of Africa’s richest women, Folorunso Alakija, and her husband, Modupe, have donated N1 billion to support the fight against coronavirus in Nigeria.

The Alakijas, in a statement dated March 29 and shared on social media on Monday, indicated that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Lagos State Government would receive N250 million each.

“Mr. and Mrs. Modupe and Folorunso Alakija through Famfa Oil Pledge N1 Billion Naira to Support Nigeria’s Fight Against COVID-19,” Mrs Alakija captioned the post on social media.

Alakija, who is a pastor in the Rose of Sharon Glorious Ministry International, had on March 21 released a prayer on social media against the virus.
