As Lagos state enter an initial 14 days lockdown announced by President Muhammdu Buhari on Sunday, Governor Sanwo-Olu in a statement said he understands the uncertainty that a lot of Lagosians are feeling at the moment but he encouraged them to be resilient.
Gov. Sanwo-Olu said the lockdown affects all residents in the state with exemptions given to only healthcare related businesses; food processing, distribution and retail companies, petroleum distribution and retail entities, power generation, transmission and distribution companies and private security companies.
He said, “We will use this containment period to identify, trace and isolate all individuals that have come into contact with confirmed cases. We will ensure the treatment of confirmed cases while restricting further spread to other states.”
The NCDC and Lagos Ministry of Health are working hard at ensuring confirmed cases get the best care possible. I guarantee that we will do all that is necessary to get through this period seamlessly.”
