Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has tested positive to the dreaded coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Igbere TV reports.
The Britain’s Prime Minister made this known in a series of tweets sighted by Igbere TV on his official Twitter handle, on Friday.
“Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.
“I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.
“Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives.”
According to Downing Street, the PM’s Office, Johnson had been tested on the advice of his chief medical officer, Professor Chris Whitty, on Thursday.
“After experiencing mild symptoms yesterday, he was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of England’s Chief Medical Officer, Professor Chris Whitty.”
Igbere TV gathered that since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in UK, 463 people have died from the virus and more than 9,500 people have been infected.
