In a bid to curtail the deadly Coronavirus pandemic in Abia State, a renowned business mogul, Sir Alex Ikwechegh, on Wednesday, kicked off an awareness programme to Abians.
The Abia born philanthropist through his foundation, “Alex Ikwechegh Foundation” is also distributing sanitizers, nose masks and soaps to indigenes of Aba.
Igbere TV reports that the awareness programme which kicked off on 25th March will end on 27th March, 2020.
Speaking with Igbere TV, the Chairman of the foundation thanked Ikwechegh for such an initiative especially at the moment when some people need to be sensitise about the deadly coronavirus and how they can stay safe.
“We started this awareness programme since yesterday, that’s 25th March and it will end on 27th March 2020. Apart from telling people about the deadly Coronavirus and the need for them to stay at home, we are also distributing sanitizers, nose masks and soaps “.
“We want Abians to stay safe and they can come to 174 Jubilee road Aba. last floor front to collect all these packages free of charge.”
“I want to use this opportunity to thank our founder, Sir Alex Ikwechegh for making these provisions for the good of Abia State. He is indeed a philanthropist and a rare gem”.
Igbere TV reports that 14 new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Nigeria: 2 in Abuja, 12 in Lagos State.
Of the 14, 6 were detected on a [naval] vessel, 3 are returning travellers into Nigeria & 1 is close contact of a confirmed case
