Senator Rose Oko, who represented Cross River North Senatorial District, has died in a UK medical facility.

The 63-year-old died on Monday at the hospital where she went for treatment.

She was also the chairman, Senate Committee on Trade and Investment.

Oko was elected as the first female representative from Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency in June 2011 in the House of Representatives.
