The Divulging Story Of Abule Ado Explosion

It was really a sad Sunday for Abule Ado residents of Amuwo Odofin, Lagos State, Nigeria as they were greeted with what they are treating as a gas pipeline explosion this morning.

It was really an eyesore from the video of the incident released today. The scene is like a war-torn Aleppo in Syria, that has been destroyed with explosives.

Many were feared dead, buildings were visibly destroyed, roofs dislodged, cars burned beyond repairs, rubbles scattered on the streets; flames with black thick smokes were seen flaring up.

Now, I need someone to convince me that it was a pipeline explosion as alleged. The explosion according to eyewitnesses, friends and relatives that live proximate to the area said that the explosion shook houses surrounding the Abule Ado up to FESTAC, Satellite Town, Mazza-Mazza, Amuwo Odofin down to Ago Palace and Mile 2 axis. Others reported that they felt it even farther from those areas.

This explosion reminds me of the 2002 Ikeja cantonment explosion, where a large stock of military high explosives at the storage facilities killed scores of people, injured and displaced many.

Until I see otherwise, I’ll believe that it was a bomb explosion concealed as a gas explosion.

My heart goes out to those that lost their loved ones, properties and businesses.

May God grant the dead ones eternal rest and also give the injured ones speedy recoveries.
