OBJ, A MAJOR ROLE PLAYER IN NIGERIA'S POST-INDEPENDENCE HISTORY – OMO-AGEGE

At 83, former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has played critical roles that have etched his name in Nigeria’s historical records forever, Deputy President, Ovie Omo-Agege of the Senate has said.

The Senator, in a special felicitations letter personally signed by him, noted that Chief Obasanjo will always look large in Nigeria’s post-independence political history.

Senator Omo-Agege who chairs the Senate Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution, applauded the Elder statesman for his commitment to the unity of the country as well as service to fatherland.

“As we express our felicitations with former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on his 83rd birthday, we also wish him good health for the years ahead.

“As a soldier, politician & elder statesman, Chief Obasanjo is one of the few who have immensely impacted the post-independence political history of Nigeria to such an extent that no documentation of epochal developments of such era can be complete without a mention of his name.

“Over several decades, what he has said, things he has done & positions he has taken all remain critical aspects of our national affairs,” Senator Omo-Agege stated.
