Supreme Court Judge Disagrees With Colleagues, Declares Ihedioha Governor Of Imo

Following the judgement by a seven-man panel of Justices led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad, which reinstated the judgement it gave on January 14, which declared Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressive Congress, APC, as the validly elected governor of Imo state, another Supreme Court judge has delivered a contrary judgment.

Justice Centus Nweze, a member of the apex court panel, disagreed with the lead verdict and gave a dissenting opinion that Ihedioha’s application had merit and therefore allowed it.

Nweze said he was satisfied that the judgement that declared Uzodinma winner was entered in error adding that the apex court had the power to review its judgment.
