BREAKING!!! Supreme Court Stands Down To Deliver Judgement On Ihedioha’s Review Request

The Supreme Court on Tuesday stood down judgement till 3 pm in the application brought by former Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha.

Mr Ihedioha and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are asking the apex court to review its January 14 judgement on the Imo governorship election which ousted Ihedioha and installed Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as governor.

The claimants say the judgement of the court which favoured Uzodinma was obtained by fraud.

They are, therefore, praying the seven-man panel of the apex court headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammed, to review and set aside the judgement.

Uzodinma’s lawyer, however, prayed the court to dismiss the application for lack of merit.

He argued further that the apex court lacks the jurisdiction to sit on appeal over any judgement delivered by the court except where cases of typographical errors or slips are noticed in the said judgement.
