Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, says the ministry is not tapping phone calls and monitoring Nigerians on social media.
There had been rumours on social media that the ministry, effective Monday, would begin wire-tapping Nigerians and that Pantami had ordered that all devices in the country should be connected to the ministry’s systems.
The minister, in a statement on Sunday by his spokesperson, Uwa Suleiman, described the news as ‘malicious’.
