Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has commenced metal grill designed perimeter fencing of the forest reserve adjacent to Michael Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu, now known as Unity Park.
Igbere TV recalls that the state government entered into agreement with the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, to beautify and provide works of arts in major roundabouts in Enugu City as well as the forest reserve, at prevailing commercial rate.
The Unity Park is being beautified with designed fence and works of arts such as an artificial water pond and a monumental roaring lion of about 30ft high and 60ft on length, to serve as a tourist attraction as well as a place for relaxation and recreation, in line with urban renewal drive of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration.
