See A Hotel Made Entirely Of Salt (Photos)

Did You Know That There is a Hotel Made Entirely of Salt? (Photos)

If you were going to build a hotel in Nigeria, you would probably make use of building materials like Cement, sands, stones, granites, nails, asbestos, Zinc, PVC, German flooring materials etc. And you might want to make an interior design with the finest furniture and equipments from various countries across the globe. But in Bolivia, this is a different case, as an entire Hotel was built with 14 inch (35cm) blocks of salt from the scratch, including the interior decorations! Can you believe that?

IgbereTV captured pictures of El Palacio de Sal (also known as The Salt Palace). This is the planet’s first luxury salt hotel and the best place to stay when visiting the magical Salar de Uyuni.

Located on the edge of Bolivia’s world famous salt flats, this magnificent hotel serves as a tourist attraction in itself, generating giant revenue for the Government of Bolivia yearly. Instead of making use of normal materials, they decided to make use of the available resources that was at their disposal (Salts).

The impressive 30-room palace covers about 48,500 square feet (4,500 sqm) and makes use of over a million salt bricks (35 cm thick) in its construction. It has a dinning room, a luxury bar, and even a golf course; green in colour but actually made of salt.

Now, that’s something unbelievable! Check out more pictures.

Note: Visitors should be aware that the hotel has one very strict rule – no one lick the walls!

The enforcement of this rule is to avoid degradation of the structure in due time (we all know how powerful our tongue can be). Although you’re allowed to touch and feel it.
