Police in Lagos have debunked rumour on social media of a proposed general raid across the state on Thursday and Friday night.
Lagos police spokesman, Bala Elkana, said in a statement on Wednesday night that the information was not “only false but mischievous, calculated towards creating fear on the minds of the people.”
He added: Lagosians are enjoined to disregard the message and treat it as fake news. Avoid the temptation of forwarding such mischievous message.”
Mr Elkana also said the state commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu, is “totally committed towards providing safe and secured environment for Lagosians to enjoy more of the night life provided by the state.”
