Nazim and Kalim, sons of ex-Nigeria international, Daniel Amokachi, have begun training with Kwara United following their departure from Turkish side, Besiktas.
The twins recently arrived in Ilorin, Kwara State and are said to be on trial under Coach Abdullahi Biffo.
“We actually started our football career in Finland in one of the teams our father was coaching then and we stayed there just training for couple of months before we got offer at Besiktas reserve team,” they said.
“Our performances then helped us to get a one year deal with them and after the deal, we had a decision to make on whether to stay in Turkey before we returned to Finland where we spent two more years.
“After our contract expired in Finland, we decided to come and taste the NPFL in which Kwara United was chosen by our dad as one of the best team in Nigeria.”
They expressed excitement at the appointment of their father by President Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria’s football ambassador.
Amokachi, a member of the 1994 Super Eagles’ team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, was also part of the Nigerian Olympic football team that won gold at the 1996 edition.
The footballer won the FA Cup with Everton in 1995. He has coached Nasarawa United and Enyimba Football Club of Aba.
