NAPTIP Finally Arrest Human Trafficker Who Trafficked Woman To Lebanon

Twenty five days after video of trafficked single mother went viral, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) have arrested a Lebanese for allegedly trafficking of Nigerian women to sex slavery in Lebanon.

Igbere TV learnt that the yet-to-be identified Lebanese was arrested on Thursday following revelations from Omolola Ajayi who was rescued after her appeal video went viral.

Igbere TV had earlier reported a video of a 23-year-old single mother identified as Ajayi Omolola narrating her ordeals as a victim of human trafficking in Lebanon and how she was deceived has surfaced on the internet.

Recall that days after video of a single mother identified as Omolola Ajayi who was trafficked to Lebanon in which Igbere TV conducted its report went viral, the 23-year-old teacher has been rescued by the Nigerian government.

It was further learnt that Omolola Ajayi was not the only victim of the suspect but there are many others who were subjected to labour exploitation in that country.

Reacting to the development, NAPTIP confirmed the arrest and further disclosed that a press conference would be held on Tuesday for further details to be provided.

Atokolo said the agency also foiled a baby sale deal and arrested the seller.

“The Commander, NAPTIP Lagos, Daniel Atokolo will be on hand to speak to the facts of the case at the press conference. The conference will also feature a moderated question and answer session with the Commander and the suspected trafficker,” the agency said.
