The Lagos State Government via it Ministry of health has given the latest update on suspected’ Corona virus case, which was rumoured to be affecting an individual in Lekki area of the state, according to IgbereTV report.
According to the reports, the individual does not exhibits any symptoms of the dreaded Corona Virus.
The Lagos State Government Ministry of Health headed by Prof. Akin Abayomi said,
Update on suspected’ Corona virus case in Lagos today 1/02/2020 The attention of Lagos State Government and Lagos State Ministry of Health has been drawn to a story of a query suspected case of 2019nCoV infection which presented at a particular private hospital in Lekki, Lagos on 29/01/2020 to continue his self quarantine.
He is therefore clinically not a suspected case of #2019-nCoV as he is not exhibiting any symptoms. As of 2:38pm today, the report from the epidemiology officers of Lagos State Ministry of Health and the doctor that attended to him at the hospital in Lekki indicated that he is in perfect health with no symptoms of nCoV2019.
Nevertheless Lagos State Ministry of Health will continue to monitor his welfare till the end of his self quarantine period. As of now there is no suspected or confirmed case of nCoV2019 in Lagos.
