Why Appeal Court President Commended Gov. Ugwuanyi In Enugu

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration in Enugu State, in line with its transformation agenda in the Judiciary, is constructing a temporary site for the State Division of the Court of Appeal complex at GRA, Enugu. The ongoing massive project is to enable the State Division of the appellate court relocate to the temporary site, for the renovation of its permanent site at Independence Layout, Enugu.

The construction of the complex for the Court of Appeal earned Gov. Ugwuanyi commendation from the President of the Court of Appeal, Her Lordship, Hon. Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachuwa, who inspected the project site at the weekend, when she visited Enugu.

The commendation was contrary to the earlier report that she applauded the governor for “the ongoing construction of the first ever Enugu State Customary Court of Appeal Headquarters complex”, which was done in error.

The Appeal Court President, who led some eminent Jurists from the various Divisions of the Court of Appeal and High Court Judges in the country to pay a courtesy call on Gov. Ugwuanyi, at the Government House, Enugu, when she was in Enugu, also commended Gov. Ugwuanyi for the Judges Quarters his administration renovated, among other interventions, saying: “We are very grateful”.

Bulkachuwa was in Enugu, in continuation of her tour of all the Court of Appeal Divisions in the country, which coincided with the Valedictory Court Session in honour of a retired Justice of Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Chinwe Eugenia Iyizoba.

The Court of Appeal annex project and other remarkable interventions, speak volumes of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s giant development strides in respositioning the State Judiciary for effective and speedy dispensation of justice in “a conducive environment with modern infrastructure.
