The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Ibrahim Magu in a latest statement stated that there is nothing wrong in raiding nights clubs to arrest Yahoo Boys.
This comes following the arrest of 89 Yahoo Boys at a Night club in Ibadan area of Oyo State.
Mr Magu said the move is important because that’s where internet fraudsters gather and spend the money gotten from their victims.
Magu said, “If it is nightclubs, these are the places the yahoo boys gather and spend the money. There is nothing wrong in raiding the yahoo boys at nightclubs.”
The acting anti-graft chairman made this known during his visit to Ibadan where he went to inspect the new recruits on Wednesday.
He hinted that the EFCC doesn’t raid Night clubs without credible intelligence.
“It is not about nightclub, raiding of nightclub is left to the police, we don’t have much power, and we will go there when we are sure it is the fraudsters,” Magu said.
He further added, “We are not raiding nightclub, we are going after the yahoo yahoo boys and we always do that when we have a credible intelligence.”
