IgbereTV reports that at about 13:45 hours of on Thursday 16-01-2020, NSCDC Anambra State command received a distress call of fire outbreak in front of Unizik Permanent Site Awka involving a Mack truck( no number plate ) loaded with cosmetic products, Gas Cylinders, and inflammable chemicals.
The cause of the Fire is unknown but could be electrical fault or spark from the Vehicle as the driver was unaware his moving truck was on fire before passer -by altered the driver.
Immediately, the command deployed Disaster Management team to the scene to help cordon off the area and assist in quenching the fire to avoid escalating as the scene is close to STANEL FILLING STATION.
There was no casualty during the fire outbreak, the driver with his two passengers were unhurt and the fire put under control by men of Anambra State Fire Service assisted by NSCDC DISASTER MANAGEMENT TEAM and other Sister Security agencies at the scene though goods worth millions of naira were destroyed.
