Today Tuesday 15th of January 2020 marks another day meant for the celebration of Nigerian Armed Forces which include the Army, the Navy and the Air force.

Prior to Today some events have been going on ahead of the main celebration.
Below are five things you may not to about the Nigeria Armed Forces Remembrance Day,

- It is celebrated on 15 January to celebrate Nigerian fallen heroes in the armed forces.
- It was formerly celebrated on 11 November of every year to coincide with the Remembrance Day (Poppy Day) for the World War II veterans of the British Commonwealth of Nations.
- It was, however, changed to 15 January in Nigeria in commemoration of the surrender of Biafran troops to the Federal troops on 15 January 1970.
- Today makes it 50 years since the end of the civil war in the country.
- It is a day to pray for fallen heroes, who laid down their lives for the country.
