The family of the late Favour Daley-Oladele, a final year Sociology student of Lagos State University (LASU), who was gruesomely murdered for money ritual at Ikoyi-Ile in Osun, has said that an order from the Lagos State Ministry of Health stopped them from burying her exhumed body at the Atan Cemetery, in Yaba Local Government Area of the state.
The victimâs dismembered body was exhumed from a dry shallow well at Ikoyi-Ile on January 4.
Favourâs uncle, Solomon Toyeme, said on Tuesday that the family had mobilised to the Ministry of Health to retrieve her body for the burial when they were instructed to suspend the arrangement for the benefit of investigation.
He said: âAn order from the Lagos State Ministry of Health instructed us not to go ahead with Favourâs burial today. We were told that some procedures need to be taken and that we need to stop the burial so that we wonât lose the case. The family had made the burial arrangement and were at the Lagos Ministry of Health to retrieve her body for burial when we received the call.â
Favour was allegedly killed by a prophet, Segun Philip, 42, and her boyfriend, Adeeko Owolabi, 22, in Ikoyi-Ile, Osun, on December 8 for money rituals.
Owolabiâs mother, Ruth, was also said to have played a role in the act. But she has denied involvement.
Police in Osun say they will begin enumeration of churches in remote areeas across the state.
âThe church at Ikoyi Ile, Osun State where the horrible killing of the final year student was carried out, no single human being of that town is a member of that church. The supposed prophet is using the place as a criminal hideout for ritual purpose,â police commissioner, Johnson Kokumo, said.
