AMERICA IS GREAT AGAIN UNDER DONALD TRUMP: THE SOWERE COMIC EXAMPLE.
Last week we posited that Mr Donald Trump is the President befitting of a world power country like the United State of America if it must deliver on its undocumented but obvious task of policing the world for United Nations.
During his 2016 campaign promises, some of which this page noted down, Mr Trump said: “America will not talk and one small rat will be countering or coughing in one corner in Asia or elsewhere.” North Korea, Iran and Turkey were cited as examples of well-policed nations under Trump.
Coincidentally, a day after stating our position on the ability of Mr Trump to match his words with actions, economically and militarily, five US Senators and a Congressman wrote the Nigerian Attorney-General and Minister for (In)Justice directly requesting him to release Sowere, Col. Sambo Dasuki and other illegal detainees under the tyrannical Major General Buhari regime in accordance with the principles of democracy and rule of law; having being granted bails by the courts.
Subsequently and within this very short period, Nigeria was placed under watchlist for an “Entity of Concern” as per religious liberty.
Expectedly, one mouth-licking Minister for (Mis)Information, Lia(r) Mohammed and the conspiratorial Attorney-General Malami in their usual obnoxious showmanship regaled us of how US cannot tell Nigeria what to do with the illegal detainees. A certain unknown international protocol was quoted to us. Which one be our own? Na be to sidon dey look?
The following day, during the hearing to enforce Sowere’s human right freshly instituted by his legal team the US sent an observer.
The following day too, a newly appointed US Ambassador to Nigeria by Trump visited Major General buhari in his office. This page in bewilderment observed a tyrant that was pleading to a woman than to talk in recalcitrance as usual.
In less than 3 hours after the meeting, a chameleonic and powerless Attorney-General of the Federation magically got power, falsely preached the commitment of the Buhari regime to uphold human rights and rule of law and ordered the immediate release of Sowere and Dasuki. Wonders shall never end!
Of noteworthy is that all these happened in less than two weeks a certain Senator Mendez said: “America is watching” in a press conference alongside Sowere’s wife. EU and UK tolled the same line.
This page can authoritatively report that Trump has made “America Great Again”.
Our Appeal: The writer of this page and a host of other Nigerians are calling on the United States not to off its searchlight, even for a second against human rights violation and all forms of misrule by the Nigerian current rulers henceforth, especially under this regime of look-more-and-see-less. So many others are still illegally detained by the Nigerian SSS, Police, Army and other security agencies across the country. Most of them are held for standing for good governance and right to self-determination.
Few weeks ago, videos of the atrocities committed by the Nigerian Police at Oraifite, Anambra State, the home country of the lawyer to Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Bar. Emeka Ejiofor gone viral. We saw a community in flames.
About 3 months ago, a suburb of Ngwa Road business cluster in Aba Abia State, Ndiegoro was seen burnt down by men of the Nigerian police too. No police officer has been held responsible for the insolences.
Nigerian military and police are extorting and molesting innocent road users, especially in the Southeastern Nigeria in the name of roadblocks. US should also pressure the Nigerian authorities to make them face the music.
State Governors El-rufai’s, Udom Emmanuel’s, Ben Ayade’s and numerous others’ cups should be filled up alongside the tyrant, the borrower-in-chief, the I-don-care ruler, the unaware and not incharge Commander-in-Chief in Abuja.
The Lucifer might be adjudged a saint if compared with these Governors as per upholding human rights and press freedom.
The immediate past US Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr W. Stuart Symington’s tenure should be probed. A review of his actions while in service in Nigeria shows a man who was in conspiracy with the regime to silence and exterminate Nigerians.
Example is how the Embassy under his watch shockingly supported the enactment of Social Media suppressive bills. He worked here like a bought-over. Tarnishing the American image.
