Ubandoman Daura, who was President Muhammadu Buhari’s principal personal secretary when he was the military head of state between 1984 and 1985, has lost his mother.
Rakiyya Adamu died at the age of 93.
Her death comes as President Buhari celebrates his 77th birthday.
President Buhari, in a condolence message to his former aide, his family and the Daura Emirate Council, expressed sorrow over the loss.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Hajiya Rakiyya who was widely respected for her outstanding community work across various domains in the Daura Emirate,” he said.
“I pray to Allah to repose her soul and grant the family and the entire people of Daura Emirate the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
