Reports reaching Igbere TV newsdesk says the House of Representatives proposed a bill to change the tenure of President, Governors to 6 years per a single term.
The bill seeks to change the tenure of President from the 4years of two terms to a single term of 6years.
Igbere TV gathered that the bill was which was sponsored by reps member John Dyegh of the All Progressive Congress, has passed through a first reading and has been listed for a second reading by the House.
If passed, the will also change the tenure of members of the National Assembly and States Houses of Assembly to 6years from the current 4years term.
There has been reports from several quarters of plans by the Presidency to extend President Buhari’s tenure beyond the constitutional provision of two four-year terms.
Only time shall tell.
