President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, has hit the dance floor with his team after successfully raising $7.6 billion for Africa’s low income and fragile states.

Mr Adesina tweeted late Thursday in excitement over his team surpassing its target.

He specifically recognised the coordinator of the African Development Fund (ADF) 15th replenishment, Kyle Peters, who led the team in securing the big win.

“With $7.6 Billion secured for Africa through the African Development Fund, we hit the dance floor and celebrated! Kool!💃🏽🕺🏾🙌🏼,” he said.

Adesina added: “My team at African Development Bank did a fantastic job on the African Development Fund 15th replenishment. We secured $7.6 Billion for Africa’s low income and fragile states. They are a 1st class group. I call them the Quantum Analytical Team! Well done guys! So proud of you👍🏼.”

The AfDB boss is in the habit of celebrating his team and does not miss an opportunity to tell how pleased he is to have them.

The former minister of agriculture was recently named 2019 African of the Year by Forbes Africa.

“African of the Year Award by Forbes Africa: I give a big ‘High 5’ to all the amazing staff and highly supportive Boards of Governors and Directors of the African Development Bank Group. Together, we continue to fast-track Africa’s development!” Adesina said on receiving the award.
