The management of Arsenal Football Club has announced the sack of the club’s manager, Unai Emery, after less than two years in charge.
The Spaniard’s sack comes as the fallout of their 2-1 loss to German side, Eintracht Frankfurt, in Thursday’s Europa League match.
The club also announced former player and fans’ favourite, Freddie Ljungberg, as interim coach.
Arsenal have gone seven games without a win, their worst run since 1992.
“We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Unai Emery and his coaching team,” a statement from the club read on Friday.
The team was booed again on Thursday night after the embarrassing loss to Eintracht Frankfurt whom they defeated 3-0 in the first leg in September.
Mauricio Pochettino, Massimiliano Allegri and Mikel Arteta are some of the coaches in contention for the job.
