Former Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, will on February 25 know his fate in the N400 million alleged fraud trial which has lasted nearly four years.
The Federal High Court in Abuja fixed the date for judgement on Tuesday.
Mr Metuh was arraigned alongside his company, Desita, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in January 2015 on seven counts of money laundering and destruction of evidence.
Justice Okon Abang fixed the date for judgment after the prosecution and defence lawyers made their closing arguments.
The former PDP spokesman was also accused of transacting with a cash of $2 million without going through a financial institution in violation of a provision of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.
During proceedings on Tuesday, defence lawyer, Abel Ozioko, called on the court to discharge and acquit his clients, adding that the prosecution failed to prove their allegations.
However, prosecution lawyer, Sylvanus Tahir, urged the judge to pass guilty verdict on the defendants.
